Part name

As a fly reel in recent years, there are a lot of 80 parts in total

Although it is not clear from the outside, the inside has a multi-axis structure.

The total number of parts is 80 parts (comparable to spinning reels), which is a large number for fly reels in recent years, but the weight has been reduced by special metal treatment.

All parts are MADE IN JAPAN quality.

Since the parts are finely divided, even if something is broken, it can be revived with a minimum of parts replacement.

Why divide the parts into small pieces …

As a fly reel in recent years, there are a lot of 80 parts in total

* As a general fly reel sales complaint, we often see the phrase “It is hard to break with a small number of parts” … but that means that if you turn it over and it breaks even in one place, you have to replace it completely. For example, if the foot, body, and center shaft cannot be disassembled, if any part becomes unusable, all others will become unusable.

Please be assured that there is no such thing as “fragile because of the large number of parts”.

All of our factories are machined from bar stock materials

(Carved from A bar stock material) and (Carved from B aluminum, machine cut from aluminum) are similar at first glance, but A and B are completely different.

I see a site that sells reels such as machine cut like B, machined aluminum, but in fact, I make a mold from casting with aluminum die casting, machine cut only the surface and cut aluminum, aluminum There is a place to say that it is carved out.

For the time being, it’s not a lie.

However, please note that the quality of aluminum is completely different between A and B.

Too low priced ones

It can be considered that the ones sold without specifying the type of aluminum are made by the manufacturing method of B.

Casting (aluminum die casting) takes less than a minute to make one spool mold, which is a unit of tens of seconds.

It only takes tens of seconds to scrape the cast (aluminum die-cast) product that has been molded.

The surface of the B manufacturing method is scraped and looks like it, but since the contents are cast products (die cast), if you hit the reel on the ground due to a fall etc., the bowl will crack like it breaks.

On the other hand, if it is machined from A’s bar stock, it will not crack due to a fall or the like. Please be aware that A and B have completely different properties of aluminum.

At our factory, we use aluminum bar stock material (6061 material) from a major Japanese material manufacturers ( Made in Japan) that guarantees perfect quality for the main body, spool, etc.

Since it has a function that is not found in general reels, we will introduce the parts names that you are not familiar with.

As we make improvements every day, the parts used may change without notice even for the same model.

  • Foot stopper
Fixes the foot during reel fight
  • Front drag
Brake control in weak areas and adjustment of propulsive force of recoil thruster engine
  • FOV guide bar
    Variable line guide

Rear side (image is swallowR2)

  • Flexible turning wing
Variable wing to change the position of the main body
  • Tension knob
Adjust the tightening force of the main body and the two wings

Brake control in the power area
  • Recoil thruster housing
Recoil thruster engine is stored inside
  • Waterproof valve
Prevents water from entering the recoil thruster
  • FOV Guide Wing
    Variable line guide
  • Finger protector
Equipped to protect fingers from rotating spools during main drag operation
※ There is something that is not attached to the cheap fly reel, but this protector
And when you’re a big fight with a tycoon, you risk cutting your finger.
  • Thruster
Used for collecting and retrieving lines Pull this to rotate the spool

Used for collecting and retrieving lines. Pull this to rotate the spool. OSPREY RAPTOR Single-handed line guide attachment (optional)

When using OSPREY and RAPTOR with a single hand, it is recommended to install a line guide attachment. (Optional) (FALCON is standard equipment)

By attaching this attachment, you can prevent the line from wrapping around from behind the reel and going to the other side.

When using with a double hand rod, remove the attachment or slide it upward to use it.
